Time waits for no man, or woman, and it’s hard to believe that it was only a few weeks ago when Patrick Reed claimed his first major title and was helped into the green jacket by hapless Sergio Garcia, whose wonderful Kevin Costner impersonation earned him the nickname of Tin Cup after the Spaniard hit five consecutive balls into the water on the par-five 15th, tying the highest score ever taken at the Masters.
It seemed to take an eternity to card that record-equalling 13 – almost as long as the film sequence – but it was definitely more entertaining than waiting for some players to pull the trigger and actually hit the putt.
