GAYLORD, MI – Treetops Resort – Michigan’s most spectacular resort continues its goal to bring more women into the game by playing host to the Second Annual Women’s Golf Festival August 3rd to August 7th.

“Our goal with this second year event is to bring women of all ages and ability to Treetops Resort to celebrate women and the game of golf. One way we are delivering exactly that is by offering great discounts on our resort hotel rooms, golf, golf instruction all week long and a special Women’s Golf Festival Dinner complete with a panel discussion headlined by LPGA TOUR winner Elaine Crosby. All in a non-intimidating, but inviting setting,” stated Barry Owens, General Manager.

The weeklong event has great flexibility, allowing ladies to come and go as they please and participate in as many or as few events as they would like. The Women’s Golf Festival offers up great room rates at just $69 per room, per night, plus taxes and fees; and discounted golf fees at just $40 for 18 holes with cart; both of which are more than half off the regular price this summer season.

The event is bolstered by daily and nightly clinics featuring differing topics that we find are most challenging to women. The topics have been selected by the Treetops teaching professionals by way of their experience teaching thousands of women who have participated in the ever-popular Ladies’ Golf School.

New this year, Treetops will offer a two-day Ladies Golf School on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Similar to the popular Ladies Golf School at the resort, this program will cover all aspects of the game in a non-intimidating atmosphere that all women will enjoy.

In addition, the new banquet dinner scheduled for Wednesday evening August 6 will be a fun and exciting social event for women to get engaged into the game. The dinner will feature an open forum discussion on women’s golf with LPGA TOUR winner Elaine Crosby and other panelists including LPGA Instructor, Judy Mason, and Michigan Section PGA Secretary, Kevin McKinley. Ladies who register for the Ladies Golf School will be able to attend the dinner free of charge.

*Members of the media on assignment are invited to attend the Women's Golf Festival at Treetops Resort anytime during the week including participating in the Ladies Golf School and attending the dinner on August 6.

With its majestic rolling hills and natural valleys overlooking the Pigeon River Valley, Treetops Resort is the name by which all other courses in Michigan are measured. The resort is home to Robert Trent Jones, Sr.’s final design in Michigan; the Masterpiece course is largely acknowledged as the architect’s crowning glory. The equally magnificent Premier course is the only course in Michigan designed by the famed Tom Fazio.

The Signature course is rated a Top 50 Course for Women. The Tradition course bears its name by the ‘traditional’ wooden pins and pennant flags paying homage to golf’s origin. Threetops Par 3 Course is ranked the No.1 Par 3 Course in North America by Golfweek, Golf Magazine and Golf & Travel. And, Treetops has been voted as one of the world’s top golf resorts by Conde Nast Magazine.

Treetops Resort is also home to a full-service spa, complete with signature spa services including a not to be missed Treetops sports message, conference and meeting facilities, indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools, along with a variety of dining and accommodations options. There are award winning children’s programs, in fact the only Michigan resort with a fully certified daycare facility on site.
